Clive Catchpole is a professional zoologist with an international reputation for his research on wildlife biology in many parts of the world. He lives in England and is currently Emeritus Professor of Animal Behaviour at the University of London. Clive has lectured all over the world and broadcast on many aspects of animal life for over 30 years. Having published over a hundred scientific papers, articles and books he is well known as an authority on Charles Darwin and evolution as well as a biologist and ornithologist.
Clive is an enthusiastic presenter of wildlife topics who also enjoys popular science writing and broadcasting. He has been a contributor to many BBC TV and radio programmes from the Natural History Unit at Bristol and acted as scientific adviser to the BBC TV series ‘Life of Birds’ presented by David Attenborough.
Clive’s researches on wildlife have taken him to many parts of the world, including Europe, the USA, Africa and New Zealand, and he has also studied endangered island birds in the Seychelles. Clive is an expert on Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution which makes his lectures on the voyage of HMS Beagle to the Galapagos and other wildlife destinations particularly suitable for cruises.
Clive has been a regular guest lecturer with Holland America, Seabourne, P & O and Viking on cruises to the Caribbean, South America (including the Amazon), Africa, Australia, Indonesia and the Arctic. Being a Professor of Animal Behaviour, he is able to bring to life the amazing world of animal behaviour in lavishly illustrated and lively presentations which have proved very popular with cruise audiences.
