BIOGRAPHY
Studied Textiles and fashion at Ravensbourne College of Art, Bromley Kent.

Caroline started up a small business when moving to the west country, in providing pictures to Show Homes, Restaurants, and Pubs. During this time she successfully started teaching a small group of students watercolour painting from her home. Encouraged by her efforts in teaching, and enjoying meeting people to teach, Caroline started up Watercolour classes from the Local village hall, in Long Ashton, outside Bristol and soon had students attending on three days of the week, as well as organizing work shops in silk painting.. This now became her full time job, as well as teaching at the Folk House in Bristol.

Caroline takes Painting Holidays in Cornwall and abroad (mainly Majorca, France, and now Greece).
Her enjoyment of teaching in beautiful surroundings to a group of like minded people made this a popular part of her work! She says to be able to pass on her ideas in watercolour painting to others and see them progress is the most wonderful feeling.

As her work shows light and life, so her students are inspired by her natural way of teaching and passion for painting.

CRUISE HISTORY / EXPERIENCE
I have worked on the P&O line Oriana. I enjoyed the experience very much. Beginners or improvers alike created and produced a picture on sea days . Starting with the techniques of watercolour like “washes” and “layering” and “wet in wet” the students worked hard and came back day after day. We had our own display on the ship of the pictures they had created. It was wonderful!
I worked for Saga “ Voyage of Discovery” on a cruise going to the Baltic as the Watercolour instructor. I enjoyed being a team player and felt there was a general feeling of friendliness between the staff and passengers. The passengers I had in my class for the Baltic cruise enjoyed having the facility of having Watercolour classes during their trip. We finished off with a small exhibition of their work and I was impressed with what they had achieved during the two weeks. I sent them photographs of the exhibition by email and I was uplifted to have such lovely comments! I have to say it was a success
ADDITIONAL RELEVANT INFORMATION
I am taking two painting holidays this year, one in Paxos Greece in June and the other in St Ives, Cornwall in September. This means I can instruct students outside, which gives then a completely different feel to learning to paint in a classroom. I enjoy these holidays a great deal, as I get to know the individuals well, and so feel I can help them, being able to understand what they want to achieve, staying with them for a whole week.

I continue to take classes in Long Ashton, in the village hall. It is a popular venue, and over the last few years I have covered a great deal of ground on how to paint in Watercolour. I take beginners and improvers, and feel amazed as seeing what some people can achieve a fairly short time.

I like to demonstrate to the class, to give them idea of how to paint the given subject, and will go around the room looking at their work and talking to them individually. At the end of the session all the work is shown together. I will give an objective criticism of their work, and always end up being positive! I hope this gives some idea of how I operate my classes to you.
