Pat is a self-taught artist. She fell in love with painting when her career in floristry ended, and she had raised her family. The decision to teach herself turned out to be a good one, as she has now developed her own unique style. Her work has been accepted in galleries for exhibition, and she has won many competitions. This has resulted in her receiving awards, and her artwork being sold at home and abroad.

She spent many years perfected her skills, experimenting with different projects and techniques, at the same time learning how to correct mistakes, and how to rescue a painting when it is heading for the bin. Now she wants to share this knowledge with as many aspiring artists as possible, and teach them in a short time what took her years to perfect.

She teaches, demonstrates and holds workshops in local art societies. She has taught on many cruise ships and always achieves high scores and amazing comments. Her classes are relaxed, fun, and informative, with sessions that appeal to all abilities. They are unique in the amount of references, and the supplementary materials she takes with her. This offers the class the chance to choose an image that they want to paint, and not being told,” This is what we are doing today. If you do not like the tutor's choice, you won't do well!!! It also takes away the competition, as there are no comparisons. She gives students a chance to use the newest products that have become available. She puts the emphasis on techniques, and gives students a chance to try out watercolour paints and pencils, gouache, acrylics, watercolour inks, gel pens and much more, and she lends these products out freely to the class. She gives a demonstration on every lesson on how to use these products. The most popular lesson is teaching to draw using a grid. For those who say “I can’t draw” she says “Yes you can!” and even total beginners are amazed with the results they achieve.

She now wants to share this knowledge with his many aspiring artists as possible and teach them in a short time what has taken her a long time to perfect this has helped her to show that watercolour can be corrected and help them achieve a painting they are proud of. The benefits earned from this hobby are enormous and her goal is to help as many people as possible discover how it can change their lives, as it changed hers.

Pat has a portfolio of over 30 different subjects. I will list a few as an example.

• SEASCAPE: Paint a view from the shore to the horizon. A demo teaching washes, wax resist, the effects of ,salt, alcohol, cling film, bubble wrap and tissue.

• DRAW WITH A GRID...You say, “ I cant draw”. I say “Yes you can!” You can draw anything using a grid and finish off in Pen and Wash.

• WOODLAND... Learn how to paint trees with a palette knife and create foliage using a sponge or stippling brush.

• TROPICAL...A lesson in painting palm trees with a fan brush bamboo with a dagger brush and how special brushes can create grasses ferns and foliage easily.

• SPRINGTIME BLOSSOMS... Beautiful springtime landscapes learning how to paint blossoms, and meadows doing pointellism.

• FLOWERS. .Paint flowers using watercolour inks in brush pen form, fine liners and gel pens to create detail and depth of colour.

• NIGHT SKIES...Paint with metallics on black watercolour paper creating the Aurora Borealis, or a starry sky.

I supply all the supplementary brushes, paints, palette knives, black paper etc. needed for these special techniques.
