Interested in drawing and painting from an early age, Sue is mainly self-taught. She ran her own business for 18 years, and on retirement, returned to her love of painting.
She works in most media, especially watercolours, oils, acrylics, and water-soluble pencils, and paints a variety of topics, including buildings, ships, and aircraft, but specialises in animals (both wild and domestic), birds and flowers.
Sue is a member of two local art societies and Secretary of one.
Sue has successfully taught art on ships operated by Cruise and Maritime Voyages, and still maintains contact with several passengers who attended her art sessions. In those sessions, she introduced passengers to the use of water-soluble coloured pencils, which are ideal for use anywhere, especially in cruise ships as they can be used on their own or with just a paintbrush and water.
For each cruise she taught on, Sue prepared by researching the destinations on the itinerary, so the painting subjects she chose included landmark buildings, flowers, and amusing local icons (eg a Norwegian Troll) as they were things that passengers might see on their cruise, thereby enhancing their cruise memories.
Sue tailors her classes to make them suitable for all ages and abilities, especially catering for those with little confidence or artistic ability, as her aim is to help every attendee produce a finished piece of artwork they can be proud of.
Her sessions are light-hearted and enjoyable and regularly attended by the same people.

To be provided.
I worked for C.M.V. and received good feedback from both Cruise Directors, and passengers who attended my art sessions. I am conversant with most art mediums, and can teach in any required. Using each cruise itinerary, I source subjects for painting that passengers might have seen on their cruise.
The following recent Cruise History has been recorded for this candidate.
