The instructor, Linda Curtis www.paintingsbylindacurtis.us, is an award winning water-media painter. She has a BFA in Painting from the Philadelphia College of Art. She is a Signature Member of both the California Watercolor Association and the International Society of Acrylic Painters. She's been teaching painting on cruise ships for the past 12 years. When she's onshore she teaches weekly community based classes in water-media, and conducts in-person and zoom demonstrations for San Francisco Bay Area art associations.

Her cruise classes begin with demonstrations and topics which are itinerary inspired. All water-media will be available to the students as Linda teaches watercolor, gouache, casein, acrylic, and water-based oil. Drawing and portraiture are also covered. Students participate in hands on learning with one on one attention given to all. Each class is designed to be fun with the goal of learning new skills to enjoy a lifelong pursuit.

Each class will provide basic instruction for beginners with information for intermediate and advanced students. Each class will include time for one to one guidance from the instructor.
Classes will be itinerary specific and include the following:
Watercolor Sky and Sea ( demonstration of the basic techniques and inspiration for more advanced painters)
Brusho for fun with the unexpected
Gauche for local landscapes and buildings
Casein blending techniques with use of vibrant color for abstract or realistic painting
Acrylic for easy application ( demo will include underpainting with acrylic)
Water-based oils will be introduced as an easier "oil" to work with.
Drawing for painting will include techniques from "grid" to composing the page.
Portraiture drawing and painting will be demonstrated with basic measurement rules to make drawing portraits easier
Perspective (one and two point) will help with buildings
Combining water-media for depth
