Bjorn Watson BEM is a retired Consulting Civil Engineer with a lifetime of experience working in construction. He has served his community since retiring and was awarded the British Empire Medal in 2020 for services to his community. He started a U3A military history group after retiring and has a wide knowledge of history, engineering architecture and current affairs. He gives talks to local groups all over the southwest mainly in military history but also in the history of architecture and engineering and he has has also extended this to his extensive travels abroad during his long career.

In 2021 he was privileged to attend the Coronation of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey.
