BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Fred Levine is an art historian who has authored numerous publications and spoken widely on a vast range of issues in art and cultural studies. Fred completed his undergraduate studies at New York University and received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. He has taught at the University of Texas, Austin; Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. As a Fellow in art history at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, he explored a vast range of Aboriginal sacred sites in often-remote areas throughout the country. Fred remained in Australia for five additional years as a lecturer in art history and theory at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, where he also served as associate dean and director of the graduate program at the Tasmanian School of Art.

Fred has lectured on cruise ships for more than 30 years, including the past 20 years with Crystal Cruises. He has traveled extensively sailing on more than 100 voyages, visiting more than 90 countries on six continents. Fredís commitment to international education has found him lecturing abroad with the American Institute for Foreign Study at the University of London. Fred and his wife, photographer Nancy Keating, are both passionate travelers. They are currently at work producing a series of documentary programs relating to art and travel. When not aboard ship, in the air, or on the road, Fred teaches at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA, where he is a professor of art history.
