Fredrik Jonasson: A Life Committed to Justice and the Law

Fredrik Jonasson, born in 1971 in the vibrant city of Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden, has dedicated his life to the pursuit of justice and the field of law.

Educational Excellence
Fredrik's pursuit of legal knowledge began with a strong educational foundation. He earned his LL.M. degree at the esteemed Uppsala University, founded in 1477, where he honed his legal skills and developed a deep understanding of the Swedish legal system.

Fredrik furthered his education by pursuing an LL.M. degree In European Law at the prestigious University of Edinburgh. This educational journey allowed him to broaden his legal horizons, gaining insights into European Law and expanding his expertise.

A Career in Public Prosecution
Fredrik Jonasson's professional journey took a significant turn when he embarked on a career as a public prosecutor. For an impressive 19 years, he served in different positions within the Swedish Prosecution Agency and the Swedish Economic Crimes Authority.

Notably, Fredrik's career path led him to serve as the Director of Public Prosecution at the Swedish Economic Crimes Authority, where he oversaw the legal standards of the work performed by all the public prosecutors within the authority.

A Senior Judge
Presently, Fredrik Jonasson holds the esteemed position of a Senior Judge and serves as the Head of Division at the Administrative Court in Gothenburg. In this role, he continues to make significant contributions to the Swedish legal system, ensuring fair and just administrative decisions.

As part of his career, Fredrik Jonasson has given many lectures on legal topics, both within Sweden and internationally, and he is known for his engaging and informative presentations.

Beyond the Courtroom
Outside of his professional life, Fredrik Jonasson is known for his passion for travelling in general and cruising in particular, having been to all corners of the world and on more than a hundred cruises.

4. A Swedish scandal; how a man was convicted of 8 murders he had not committed
Thomas Quick was a Swedish man who became notorious for confessing to a series of gruesome murders in the 1990s. He was initially believed to be one of Sweden's most prolific serial killers. His detailed and graphic confessions shocked the nation, and he was convicted of eight murders and one rape based on his confessions. However, his story took a dramatic turn as more information came to light that indicate that he had in fact not committed the crimes he had confessed to.

5. The colour of your collar; what is really white collar crime?
Imagine a criminal, not with a mask and a gun, but in a suit and tie, sitting in a corner office, manipulating numbers on a spreadsheet. This individual doesn't carry a weapon, but their actions can devastate lives and entire economies. I have not yet had the privilege to attend a cruise as a guest speaker. However, as part of my profession, I have held numerous lectures and presentations. I am also an experienced cruise guest, as I have completed a hundred cruises on all the major cruise lines.
