Dr. Caroline Malloy is a Historian and Book Coach based in Chicago, IL. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has taught Humanities and History at universities across the US.
Caroline has been invited to deliver talks on Empires, Arts, and Heritage projects throughout the US and Europe. A specialist in the visual culture of Empires, stretching from Ancient Rome and the British Empire, she is interested in how we interact with objects and spaces from the Past in our modern life. Her dissertation on nationalism at World's Fairs and International Exhibitions has led her to her current book project on Imre Kiralfy, the master turn-of-the-century showman.
When not lecturing, Caroline works as a book coach. Through her business, The Write Malloy, she supports authors of narrative nonfiction, memoir, and historical fiction through every step of their journey, from planning to pitching and everything in between. She is also a certified fitness instructor, an avowed "foodie," and an enthusiastic road-tripper. She and her husband have driven across most of the US and Canada, including favorites Route 66 and the PCH.
Specialties include:
- History, Art, and Archaeological History of the Ancient Mediterranean;
- History, Art, and Archaeological History of the British Isles (Ancient & Empire);
- Cultural Heritage and Museum Practices & Controversies
