BIOGRAPHY
Julian is an experienced engaging speaker, military historian, author, and ex-Cop. He says “Military history is no longer a dirty word. With recent events in Ukraine confronting us every day, the relevance of military history is back in the spotlight.”

Having been a battlefield guide for 25 years Julian has led hundreds of tours around the globe including South Africa, America, Turkey, Italy the Baltics and most of Western Europe. His chameleon like personality, and sense of humour allow him to entertain and educate all levels from School children to NATO Army officers. As well as guiding he has presented at the Royal United Service Institute in Whitehall, The National Army Museum and other conferences and associations. His talks use the latest technology, and many include drone footage, for a more immersive experience.

Julians latest book, Burning Horizon, was the culmination of hundreds of hours of interviews with veterans from the Iraq war. It tells the story of Operation Telic through the eyes of those that fought in Tanks, on foot, in the air and from beneath the waves of the Persian Gulf. He was recently invited on to Sky News to talk about the book.

As a front-line Police Officer for 25 years Julian worked on Tactical Firearms Teams, Close Protection and as a covert surveillance operative in London, tackling serious and organised criminal networks. Commended for bravery, he has helped tackle armed robbers, drug traffickers, murderers, and paedophiles. He considers himself lucky to have only been shot at once and had no serious injuries.

Julian is currently studying for his Master’s degree. His breadth of life experience and extensive knowledge enable him to keep creating captivating presentations relevant to cruise itineraries and their guests.
