BIOGRAPHY
During Dr. Kenneth Stein’s 21-year career with Boeing at the Kennedy Space Center he developed his interest in the manned space programs of the United States and Soviet Union. During this interactive presentation we will examine the reaction of the United States to the launch of Sputnik and the first US manned space flight program.

In this interactive presentation we’ll see how Salyut 7 was the transition space station that led to the Mir and International Space Station of today with a side trip to the Soviet Space Shuttle.

Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz: Competition and Cooperation
During our discussion we’ll look at two different mission profiles; the US first space station that couldn’t be called a space station and the first cooperative flight between the US and USSR.

Mammals, Machines, and Mischief: The Lessor Known Heroes, Discoveries, and Follies in Space Exploration
Cats in space, rocket shoes, and disappearing cosmonauts are just some of the back stories of manned space flight. Join me as we look into the nocks and crannies of history and find the lost contributions that helped make the space flight programs a success.
