BIOGRAPHY
Malcolm is a retired vet, freelance journalist and author. As a vet, he worked at London Zoo before moving into general practice where he specialised in exotic pets. Throughout his career, he had a particular interest in the welfare of primates, both here in the UK and abroad and was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship in recognition of his work. He was the vet for My Weekly for fifteen years, writing a series of monthly anecdotal tales based on his experiences in practice. His first novel, Pets in a Pickle, was published in May 2011 and the ebook version reached number two on Kindle’s bestseller list. The sequel, Pets on Parade, was published in April 2012; and the third, Pets Aplenty, in August 2014. The latter has been number one on Kindle's bestsellers' list for vet stories and was a finalist in the People's Book Prize 2015. He has just been commissioned to write a second six month weekly series entitled 'Tales from Prospect House' for the national magazine, The People's Friend.

He has contributed many features to magazines such as Cats’ World, Parrots’ Magazine, Somerset Life, Sussex Life, Best of British and The Lady. He has written for the Sunday Times and writes for the Daily Mail. He has given over 40 radio interviews about his life with animals and how they have influenced his writing and spoken on these subjects at 12 Literary Festivals. He currently partakes in a weekly topical discussion about pets for a local radio station and is a regular panellist on Radio Somerset. He's listed on a national speakers' agency and on the Speakers' List for the Somerset and Dorset Women's Institutes where he's proved popular with his witty take on life as a vet. He has been a guest speaker on cruise ships for eight years and to-date has completed 36 international engagements.

Malcolm's on-board presentations are filled with music, videos, animated cartoons and even a touch of magic. These visually compliment his animal anecdotes and guarantee passengers are well entertained - to such an extent that on some cruises the word's gone out that 'the funny vet' is a 'must see'.
