Corey Sandler has been a storyteller all his life. Beginning as a reporter for a small-town daily paper, he covered two national Presidential campaigns and become a correspondent for The Associated Press.

He has written more than 200 books on history, sports, travel, computers, and business; several titles have become national bestsellers. He has appeared as a guest on NBC’s “Today” show, CNN, National Public Radio, and The Travel Channel.

One of Sandler’s books, “Henry Hudson: Dreams and Obsession”, tells the story of the New World’s least understood explorer. In two years of research by ship, bush plane and canoe, Sandler retraced Hudson’s voyages to the ice barrier of the North Pole, his exploration of the Hudson River and his final trip into northern Canada where he was set adrift by his crew to die.

“Watching Baseball”, written with former Boston Red Sox star and broadcaster Jerry Remy, was a runaway bestseller in 2004, the year Boston broke the Curse of the Bambino and won the World Series.

Sandler has worked with the world's leading luxury cruise lines for many years, lecturing in the Baltic, Mediterranean, far northern Norway and the Arctic, Central and South America, the North Atlantic, and the Canadian Maritimes.

Sandler has an eye for unusual connections between people, places, and events. An accomplished photographer, he illustrates his lectures with pictures taken in some of the most famous and most obscure places on earth.

His lectures blend a broad understanding of history and culture in an entertaining package of photos, music, and video.

He and his wife Janice live on Nantucket island, off the coast of Massachusetts.

Corey Sandler has traveled to more than 100 countries around the world. More importantly, he has a journalist's and an historian's eye for unexpected and wondrous connections between far-flung places.

What is the link between Chile and Croatia? Between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Caribbean? The Spanish Empire and Alaska? The Suez Canal, the Panama Canal, and the New York Subway? South Pacific guano islands, Amelia Earhart, Nantucket whaleships, and the Trans-Pacific Telegraph Cable? Coastal Norway and the U2 spy plane? Henry Hudson, Moscow, and copper in James Bay? Scotland, Panama, and the Macy's Day Parade?

His destination areas of expertise include:

* The Mediterranean
* Norway, Sweden, and the Baltic including Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Saint Petersburg, Russia
* The Adriatic, including Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Venice
* The United Kingdom and Ireland
* The North Atlantic including coastal Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Shetland Islands, Orkney Islands, and Arctic Russia to Murmansk
* The East Coast of America, from Canada including Quebec, Nova Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick to New England, New York, Florida, and on to the Gulf of Mexico
* The Caribbean
* The Panama Canal, Central and South America, and the Amazon River
* The West Coast of America, from Alaska through British Columbia, to Mexico and beyond
* The South Pacific.

He is capable of delivering commentary from the ship's bridge, regularly doing so in the Panama Canal, New York Harbor, Venice, and many other places.

And he also has a portfolio of well-researched and well-received Special Interest lectures on music, history, famous and infamous crime, and art. He can also conduct photography classes, and work with shore excursion departments in operating tours with an emphasis on helping guests improve their travel photographs.

That makes him an especially valuable speaker for itineraries that include many days at sea, allowing him to mix destination and special interest talks as needed. He is a Cruise Director's best friend when a ship is forced to miss a port because of weather, marching from his cabin to the stage with an extra lecture anytime, anywhere.

Sandler is equally at ease on a network television show watched by tens of millions of viewers and at an informal gathering of half a dozen guests in the lounge or on tour. And he delivers a two-for-one deal, accompanied by his gracious wife, herself an accomplished museum docent and author.
I am a bestselling author and an experienced speaker aboard cruise ships and have appeared on many network television shows.
I have been under contract for the past 10 years with a major luxury cruise line, giving talks all around the world.

I am looking for multi-cruise engagements. In recent years I have been out to sea for five to six months of each year, usually in increments of about six weeks at a time.

I have been the featured speaker on more than 200 cruises over the years.

My role has been as a destination speaker on port-intensive itineraries, as a special interest speaker on Arts and Ideas on transoceanic and repositioning cruises, and I have combined both areas on some contracts. I have also conducted photography courses aboard ship, and have worked with hotel directors and shore excursion departments to add a photography component to some offship tours.
