BIOGRAPHY
Originally trained as a Primary School teacher Kerrie-Anne has over forty years experience teaching handcraft to both adults and children. Having lived in seven countries she has taught students of wide backgrounds and abilities.

Recent highlights of this include:
• 6 weeks artist in residence at Fibre Works Sunshine Coast BC Canada
• Teaching at Quilt Norfolk, Norfolk Island
• Solo Art quilt exhibition at Textile Treasures Newcastle NSW Australia
• Teaching three years at the bi-annual Quilt Symposium SA Australia
• Her projects have appeared in Down Under Quilts

Cruise experience includes:
• Teaching for Needlework Cruises (5 full day classes) on Celebrity Solstice
• Sea Princess Sydney to Buenos Aires –22 classes in 38 days (60 students per class)
• Pacific Princess Dubai to Los Angeles–36 classes in 62 days (45 students per class)

Classes offered enable guests to enrich their cruise by experiencing a wide variety of crafts with everything they need supplied to complete their cruise memento, usually with a choice of colors. Kerrie-Anne supplies kits and tools for up to 50 students. Her cruise classes include quilting, quilling, beading, bead embroidery, paper crafts, textile arts, cross-stitch, needlepoint, Shiva, fabric painting, watercolor pencils, Christmas crafts and a Photo to Pictorial Appliqué lecture.

A satisfying, successful class involves a completed project so Kerrie-Anne is always happy to assist slower students complete their projects afterwards.

CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
One or two hour and multi day classes include quilting, quilling, beading, paper crafts, watercolor pencils, Shiva stick painting, textile art, needlework, vellum/parchment craft and Christmas crafts.
I supply pre-bagged kits and have tools for up to 50 guests.

Example Classes and Workshops

Watercolour Pencils
• Basic watercolour pencil techniques
• National flowers- using watercolour pencils to “paint” flowers of countries visited
• Flower Perspectives- Is a round flower always drawn round?
Drawing the same simple flower from several viewpoints then using these “flower perspectives” to paint a bunch of flowers

Beading
• Christmas Decorations
• Bottle neck doily- bead netting using seed, bugle and round beads
• Beaded lanyard- simple bead stringing for wearing during the cruise
• Hair accessories- barettes or combs decorated with wired beads.
• Pearl bead daisy posies- wiring beads into a posy of five daisies
• Earrings

Quilling
• Flowers of destinations
• Spanish fan
• Butterfly
• Sailing ship with shiva stick shaded water

Fabric Crafts
• Hawaiian Appliqué- Designing two color appliqué and stitching using needle turn technique
• Pictorial appliqué- using local photos to create a fabric picture
• Sunflowers- shredder tool used on ribbons
• Serviette/Napkin Rings- binding and decorating
• Padded Trinket Boxes- painted base and padded lid
• Christmas Crafts-patchwork balls, padded candy bowls etc
• Fabric Painting- using setacolour paints


Paper Crafts
• Vellum/Parchment Crafts-drawing and embossing using stylus and paper modeling tools. Painted with watercolor pencils and shiva sticks.
• Shiva Rose- petals coloured with shiva sticks then glued. Hand painted cabochon centres
• Crepe paper flowers- attached to hair comb or stem
