And stretch……Diana Moran “The Green Goddess” was one of the original team to launch BBC Breakfast Television in the UK in 1983, and for over 4 years she spearheaded the fitness awareness of the 80’s. Her successful career has spanned four decades, and in 2021 she is still working as a fitness guru, broadcaster and writer. In 2020 during the Coronavirus pandemic BBC Breakfast invited Diana to return to our TV screens to encourage older viewers in particular, to stay physically and mentally fit. Now in her 80’s she filmed herself doing home exercise routines calling her campaign “Keep Fit and Carry On”. The exercise videos have resulted in a successful fitness DVD and an active website...www.keepfitandcarryon.com
Diana has published 16 health related books, fitness videos and DVDs, many featuring her trademark ‘EasiFit’ exercises, designed especially for an older market, somewhat neglected by the fitness industry. She encourages people of all ages to keep healthy - but especially targets her message to 'Men and Women Who Weren't Born Yesterday'. Her 15th book “Sod Sitting – Get Moving”
is a must have guide to keeping fit and healthy in your 60’s 70’s and beyond. Co-written with the eminent Prof Sir Muir Gray it is designed to motivate and inform older people to make the most of later life. Her 16th book “Beating Osteoporosis”
published in 2019 contains the facts, treatments, and exercises to help guard against the bone disease osteoporosis, and to reduce the risk of falls and resulting fractures.
For most of her adult life Diana has spent 50% of her time working voluntarily for many charitable organisations, to help raise funds and awareness. For over 45 years she has been a champion for older people with Help the Aged (now AgeUK), and with the NHS. Since the 1970’s Diana has been actively involved helping physically disadvantaged young people by working with charities including - The Lady Taverners, The White Lodge Centre and The Orpheus Trust.
At the age of 48 having experienced Breast Cancer herself and undergoing subsequent major surgery, Diana began working with many Cancer Charities. In June 2019 The Queen honoured Diana with the British Empire Medal for her services to charity, and in December 2019 she was flattered to receive the “Women of Influence” Award for working to improve Fitness and Wellbeing in the UK.
Diana is a facilitator for conferences and corporate events and an amusing after dinner speaker. Versatility is Diana’s forte. For 4 years until recently as a journalist, she wrote a regular weekly page on Wellbeing for The Lady magazine, and she could be heard on DAB station - The Wireless, in her weekly radio programme “We’ve Got Mail”. In both, as an Agony Aunt, she addressed queries and concerns of older age.
Over the years she has appeared in many major Pantomimes, and starred in the world famous record breaking show “Calendar Girls”. An extensive traveller, Diana has lectured in Health spas and resorts worldwide, and appeared as Guest Speaker on many major Cruise Lines. Diana was born and bred in the West Country. She has 2 sons and 4 adult grandchildren. In her spare time she is a keen and competent artist.

Diana says "Women like me have so much to do in the rest of our lives. We're not as young as we used to be, but we're not as old as some people think we should be! We know that staying healthy means we enjoy life much more but there are no quick fixes – we weren’t born yesterday!” However, age is but a number - what counts is ATTITUDE!
