BIOGRAPHY
Working as Head of Art and DT in a primary school for over a decade has seen me teach a myriad of engaging, differentiated lessons in a wide range of mediums including watercolours, charcoals, chalk and oil pastels, acrylics, pen and ink, pencils and also with clay, paper, card, raffia, coloured acetate, tissue paper, wood and natural resources such as leaves, twigs, wood, fabric (to name just a few). My aim is to teach, support and show individuals the core skills which will allow them to explore their creativity and create exceptional art that they didn't believe they'd be able to produce.

My degree is from UCL in History and History of Art, so I have an in-depth knowledge which gives the art we create a context and meaning - both historically and culturally. I think this would work particularly well on a cruise ship as I can provide lessons that links with the places and history of the places visited on a specific cruise and it becomes immediately relevant to their experience.

I am passionate about Art and believe that anyone (yes, anyone!) can be an artist. Through teaching children from a young age through to A Level, in a timed environment, I have developed a process of teaching that allows everyone, regardless of ability, to be successful.

I am known for inspiring the people I teach - my enthusiasm and belief in not just what I teach, but how I teach, is infectious. As long as you can draw a straight line and a curved line, I can turn you into an artist.

I also run a private tutoring business and have led gifted and talented pupils to achieve Art scholarships in top London schools - some of whom have now gone on to study Art at foundation and degree level at leading Art colleges.

As well as this, I have taught and led events at the AELTC (Wimbledon Tennis) where I have taught Art lessons as part of wider events for the members there.

Whether re-creating medieval illuminated manuscripts and calligraphy, to watercolours of a local town to portraits to abstract collages of a volcano... I believe, and can show through my pupils' portfolio of work, that anything is possible.
