Heather Bowring
Art and the Tactile Artist

Heather is a self taught artist. Her unique style of tactile painting has been acknowledged as such by the Tate Modern, who commissioned her to make a painting for their Touch Tours collection. Other commissions include the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth, who asked her to make a tactile copy of a 16th century painting of the Mary Rose ship. Heather enjoys creating different styles of painting including miniatures, portraits and contemporary works. In particular she likes to paint stories and is inspired by radio, text and dialogue of everyday life.

Susan Bradley

Sue is primarily a watercolour painter. She enjoys 'traditional' landscape scenes but is also very interested in creating pattern and textural effects and semi-abstract themes. She has had paintings selected for major exhibitions including the Artist and Leisure Painter magazine annual open exhibition at Patchings Art Centre, Nottingham and the Royal Society of Marine Artists exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. Sue is a fully qualified teacher and currently tutors watercolour classes for adults, workshops for art societies and painting holidays in Spain and Italy.

Tracey Cattana is an educator (Wollongong University, Australia) and an Artist with many exhibitions under her belt. She has spent many years travelling overseas visiting every art gallery imaginable big and small. Her favourite artists span from Australian Indigenous Art and Brett Whitely to the genius she has a soft spot for the once misunderstood and beautiful Vincent Van Gogh. Come with her as she shares the eclectic, sometimes sad and sometimes funny lives behind the artwork of much loved artists that will touch your heart not just for their amazing works but their creative minds and enviably interesting stories.

Lawrence Dunn

Lawrence is an artist and retired art teacher who was born in Sunderland and was educated at St. Aiden's Grammar School. At the age of 16 he enrolled at the local Art College, and graduated in Fine Art four years later, also gaining a B.A. in History of Art in 1985. His first teaching post was in a secondary school in Sunderland, and he has taught for over 40 years in both the state and private sectors, being Head of Art and Design in three schools. Lawrence retired from adult teaching in 2005 but continues to teach painting and art history to both enthusiastic beginners and experienced amateurs.

Helen Halliday

Helen is a practising professional artist creating and exhibiting paintings, prints and ceramics. She originally studied Music at Durham University and the Vienna Academy, worked for the BBC and Swiss Radio as a Studio Manager and sound engineer, then went on to gain a degree in Fine Art. Since then she has taught painting for local authorities and on painting holidays in the UK and abroad. Her enthusiasm for her subject, wide-ranging knowledge and ability to encourage and support each individual has ensured that her painting courses are popular and enjoyable.

Brian Healey

Brian Is a graduate in French and German from the University of Keele and also holds diplomas in History of Art from the University of Vienna, and Interior Design from Blackburn University College. Parallel to his career a senior languages teacher at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Blackburn, Brian has enjoyed much success as a professional artist since his early teens, having inherited the genes from his father. He has been working on cruise ships regularly since 2005, both as art tutor and Art Historian lecturer.

Caroline James

Caroline studied Textiles and fashion at Ravensbourne College of Art, Bromley Kent. She started up a small business when moving to the west country, in providing pictures to Show Homes, Restaurants, and Pubs. During this time she successfully started teaching groups of students watercolour painting from her home. Encouraged by her efforts in teaching, and enjoying meeting people to teach, Caroline started up Watercolour classes from the Local village hall, in Long Ashton, outside Bristol. As her work shows light and life, so her students are inspired by her natural way of teaching and passion for painting.

Magda Kozarzewska

Magda was born and educated in Poland, Warsaw and studied at Chelsea School of Art and The Slade School of Fine Art. She was among the fortunate ones to be taught by Gowing, Coldstream and Uglow. She is a practicing artist and an experienced teacher. She taught at schools, art schools and art colleges including RCA. Since 2012 Kozarzewska has been teaching watercolour painting on ships. She also works as a house guide at Blenheim Palace and an assistant custodian at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford. Her work has been exhibited at national and commercial galleries and museums in the UK and Europe.

Arnold Lowrey

Arnold lives in South Wales and is now a Welsh professional artist who has been painting for over 40 years. He paints and tutors in all mediums, including watercolour, acrylics, pastels and oils. He has regular exhibitions of his paintings in the South Wales area as well as exhibiting at the Mall Galleries in London amongst others. His current exhibitions are centred at The Norwegian Church, Cardiff Bay. He has written four books on painting, produced 21 professional DVDs, and regularly tutors on cruise ships.

Paul is an artist, teacher and curator. He trained at Liverpool College of Art and University College London, achieving a BA Hons, Post Graduate Certificate of Education and MA. He has taught for many years, in schools and colleges and in museums and galleries. He paints in oil, watercolour and mixed-media and has enjoyed a number of one-person exhibitions in the UK. Paul has taught on cruise ships for ten years and his classes are always popular and lively.

Patsy Moore

Patsy is a professional watercolour artist. Living in West Sussex gives plenty of inspiration for town and country scenes. Travels further afield in Britain and abroad give scope for her favourite marine subjects, landscapes and the endless delights of Venice. Educated at Edinburgh University and Art College, she has always worked in art related subjects and has, for many years now, devoted her time to painting and teaching art to various groups and onboard cruise ships.

John Morris

Originally from Merseyside, John started his working life in Graphic Arts after attending Liverpool College of Art. A change of career saw him training as a chef, subsequently owning his own restaurant in Yorkshire and then becoming a Further Education Lecturer in professional cookery. Inspired by the TV programme Watercolour Challenge, John decided to take up painting again and over recent years has combined formal painting courses for beginners with self development.

Maggie Sadullah

Maggie is an artist with a passion for light and colour. Her trips to Italy, France, Morocco and Mediterranean countries, such as Malta have been a great font of inspiration for her. Her main luggage becomes her palette. Maggie likes her paintings to ‘sing’ and often creates this effect by glazing paint over paint. Her main aim on board ship is to unleash the artist and creativity in her students with a gentle guiding hand and to share her passion for art. She intends to build confidence and temper her tuition for each individual, numbers permitting.

Edwin (Eddy) Williams

Edwin is a fully qualified Engineer, Quality Assurance Manager and also holds a degree in Human Resource Management, specialising in Learning and Devolpment. Over the last 25 years he feels privileged to have taught many people the delight of watercolour, often combining the teaching with the raising of money for several charitable causes that are close to his heart. He encourages his students to enjoy painting what they see, in a manner that they are comfortable with. He really believes that painting in watercolour inspires people to see both themselves and the world in a refreshingly new way.

Pauline studied art at St. Helens College of Art and at The University of Wales in Cardiff; She also has a Post Graduate teaching qualification from the University of Newport. Her art is a representation of life from her perspective. She has been painting and drawing from life, recording places, events and people wherever she goes. She especially enjoys drawing musicians whilst they play. Pauline also teaches drawing and painting, mostly to adults, specializing in portraiture and life-drawing.
