Jim is a retired USA Diplomat who lived in 13 countries and has given Destination/Maritime History Lectures on more than 120 cruises in Europe, Asia, S. America. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy (BSc) and University of Chicago (MBA). He was a US Navy Submarine Officer, VP International for Fortune 500 companies. He was a University Professor for History, Geography, Logistics, and International Marketing. Having lived and worked in Panama and transited the Panama Canal 30 times and Suez Canal 4 times, Jim can give the ship's bridge commentary about the history of the Canal in English or Spanish. He has also narrated bridge commentary about Glaciers in Chile and Norway.

Howard Cook is an Historic Aircraft Pilot, Historian and lecturer (MA University of Birmingham). He has travelled extensively throughout the world, is a qualified Destination and Port Speaker with particular expertise in the Arctic, Scandinavia, Baltic and the Mediterranean and is keen to bring destinations and subjects to life for cruise guests with his love of History and Geography. He is a Freeman of the City of London, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS) and was Honorary Commander of the 493rd Fighter Squadron US Air Force. Howard has flown a wide range of aircraft, from Tiger Moths to Spitfires and Hurricanes.


		Professor Ken Dark Archaeologist and Historian PhD FSA FRHistS Classical and Medieval Archaeology and History, World Archaeology

Ken Dark is a professional archaeologist and historian specialising in the Classical and medieval worlds and in early Christianity. Ken lectured for three years at the University of Oxford even before gaining his Cambridge PhD in archaeology and history, and then at the University of Cambridge for seven years. Moving to the University of Reading, he was Director of the Research Centre for Late Antique and Byzantine Studies for 15 years. Ken has over 30 years of experience of continuing education lecturing and guiding archaeological tours and has over 100 academic publications, including 11 books.

Stephen has lectured about natural history around the world since 2007, having always been fascinated by wildlife. Although marine wildlife is his speciality, his love for and knowledge of other creatures and general ecology is extensive. In 2006 when a whale swam up the Thames into London, Stephen was volunteering on the rescue and this triggered an old passion. He left three decades in advertising behind to take up the challenge of rejuvenating the whale and dolphin survey charity ORCA and created a cruise programme for the charity that led to him lecturing on cruises worldwide. An inspiring speaker, his talks are enthralling and enchanting.

Howard is a keen student of history, geography, and current events and loves to share those passions with audiences. He's given hundreds of talks over the last six years following decades of traditional teaching. Howard began his career as a destination and enrichment speaker in 2018 after teaching for many years in the University of Denver's University College masters program. Since 2015, he has been delivering presentations through an organization called Active Minds throughout the Denver metropolitan area on a broad range of topics of current interest. He received a B. A. with honors in History from Brooklyn College and a J. D. from Yale Law School.

Dr. James Teslow is an astronomer, member of the American Astronomical Society, aerospace engineer, and educator. A true rocket scientist, he worked in the field of rocket propulsion for 30 years before turning his attention to education. He has since taught secondary science and mathematics, and numerous university graduate courses as an adjunct professor. He now teaches and entertains via talks on ships, and at libraries and senior centers. In his spare time he enjoys long-distance walking.

William Thayer received his BS in Math from Stanford, an MS in Aerospace Engineering from USC and an MBA from USC. He has spent 30 years in the aerospace industry in aircraft, missiles and spacecraft and 10 years in real estate/finance. Although he has a technical/financial background, history has always been his passion. He enjoys lecturing on great human accomplishments and great historical events. William enhances his historical experience by actually traveling to where history happened. He has visited all 7 continents, over 60 countries and been around the world 3 times.

Unlike other speakers who just talk about movies, John is an actual movie maker who can authoritatively answer audience questions, and provide honest answers along with real world illustrations and examples.
