Dr Norman Berdichevsky is a Freelance lecturer, teacher, translator, writer, researcher, editor, cruise enrichment speaker, interpreter, tutor, and community events manager with sophisticated communications skills; He has forty-five years’ experience teaching at university, college, and junior college levels in the United States, Denmark, Spain and Israel – 6 published books, more than 300 articles in a variety of American, British, Danish, Spanish and Israeli journals; fluent in Hebrew, Danish, Spanish and Esperanto and has conducted many cruise enrichment lectures.

Patsy has lived in Spain, France and Italy, and holds degrees in French and Italian from Trinity College, Dublin, and a Masters in Economic and Social History from the University of Edinburgh, specialising in Imperial Russia. She has worked as a court interpreter and translator, taught Italian Renaissance and medieval literature and speaks fluent Italian, French and rusty Spanish as well as a little Russian. Her informative talks cover the history and art of Russia, Italy and England.

Rab Houston

Professor Rab Houston took a first class honours degree in Modern History from the University of St Andrews and, after six years at the University of Cambridge as a research student and research fellow, returned as a lecturer in 1983. A full professor since 1995, he has held visiting professorships. Rab has written 10 books on subjects such as early modern British and European literacy, British demography and urbanisation and society. In June 2017 he acted as an ‘expert’ lecturer on a ‘Smithsonian Journeys’ tour of Scotland. His talks on British and Irish History are entertaining and stimulating.

Dr Karen Woodman is a retired university professor, who is an entertaining cruise enrichment speaker on topics such as history, education, street art, culture, dance, language, and food as they relate to cruise destinations. Karen is also an avid social dancer who enjoys sharing her love of dance, the benefits of social dance, and the mind-body connection. She has traveled extensively, including North and South America, the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, Cuba, Europe, Scandinavia, and South-East Asia.
